how  to cope  with  your  hay  fever  naturally

If you have never suffered from hay fever you many not realise just how  debilitating it can be.  Watering, sore, red or puffy eyes, runny or stuffed up nose, headache, sore throat or irritated skin can leave you feeling distressed and exhausted.

Some people's symptoms are worse indoors than out, others when it rains.  Even the time of day can affect you, first thing in the morning and around 4pm in the afternoon, just as the moisture in the atmosphere changes, so can your symptoms.

Supporting your immune system should always be your primary concern,
reflexology, aromatherapy, and homeopathy will help balance your body, but there are also some simple changes that you can make at home that you may not have thought of, that can be of real benefit for hay fever sufferers.

  • Wearing sunglasses to reduce the amount of pollen that gets into your eyes, preferably ones with lenses that wrap around your face.

  • Placing a small amount of Vaseline on a cotton bud and gently lining the inside of your nostrils with it, to stop pollen irritating and inflaming the nasal passages.

  • Using Vitamin C or Echinacea to support the immune system; reducing the amount of histamine that is released into your system, just like antihistamines without making you feel drowsy.

  • Using a homeopathic tincture such as Euphrasia tincture, which is diluted with water to rinse your eyes, helping to reduce the irritating inflammation.

  • Using a very mild aromatherapy cream such as Chamomile to sooth irritated skin and relieve itching.

  • Using an ioniser in your home or work place to reduce the amount of pollen and dust in the atmosphere .

  • Cold compresses on puffy eyes or sinuses can reduce pain and inflammation.

  • Reduce the use of other irritants such as perfumes, perfumed make up or facial creams, air fresheners, chemical cleaners, polish.
